Canadian SOGC Guideline Cites Research from Iran’s Radiology Research Center

In the latest Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Uterine Fibroids (Guideline No. 461), published on June 23, 2025 by the Société des Obstétriciens et Gynécologues du Canada (SOGC), one of the scientific articles authored by researchers from Iran Radiology Research Center has been formally cited.

The referenced article, entitled
“Pregnancy and its Outcomes in Patients After Uterine Fibroid Embolization: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis,”
presents a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis of pregnancy outcomes in patients who have undergone Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE).

SOGC is a national professional organization in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in Canada, established in 1944, and is recognized as the country’s official medical authority on women’s health. The organization is responsible for developing and publishing nationally endorsed clinical guidelines, many of which are widely cited as authoritative references at the international level.

By referencing this study, the SOGC guideline highlights the critical role of imaging evidence and minimally invasive radiological interventions in clinical decision-making related to the treatment of uterine fibroids and fertility preservation. The inclusion of this research in a highly regarded international guideline underscores the scientific credibility and global impact of the research conducted at the Iran Radiology Research Center in shaping evidence-based clinical recommendations.

This achievement represents an important step toward increasing the international visibility of Iranian research within leading global clinical guidelines and strengthening interdisciplinary scientific collaboration between interventional radiology and obstetrics and gynecology.
